George Carlin (May 12th 1937- June 22nd 2008) was a comedic genius. He single-handedly took language and turned it into a device that was mesmerizing, educating and hilarious. An intellect compared to Mark Twain, the Einstein of comedy. He was such an Irish man, he defaulted the Catholic Church, and claimed he was a sun worshiper, because he didn't want to worship someone he couldn't see, he wanted the sun, the sun you can see, it's really there.
His death was only months before he was going to be awarded the annual Mark Twain prize for American humor. Saying that he was one of the greats is an understatement. He has left behind a legacy that has made the eyes and sides of millions water and hurt from the immense laughter. He had done comedy for about 51 years and with such amazing talent, with such theatrics that he has turned many into fans of him.
